Obama Lied About Jobs Created By Stimulus Programs

Obama overstated (Lied) about the number of jobs created or saved through the stimulus program. The $787 billion stimulus program claimed more than 30,000 positions paid for with recovery money. But that figure is overstated by least 5,000 jobs. The government has overstated by thousands the number of jobs it has created or saved with federal contracts under the president’s $787 billion recovery program. The $787 billion economic stimulus package is meant to save or create 3.5 million jobs. Obama continued putting out reports and making statements about how well the $787 billion investment is working. We see he was just misleading the country….Lying.

A Colorado company working with the Federal Communications Commission reported that stimulus money paid for 4,231 jobs, when less than 1,000 were produced. East Central Technical College in Douglas, Ga., claimed 280 stimulus jobs linked to more than $200,000 to buy trucks and trailers for commercial driving instruction, and a modular classroom and bathroom for a health education program. with recovery money, but none was created from stimulus spending. The 280 were not jobs, but the number of students who would benefit. A Florida child care center said its stimulus money saved 129 jobs but used the money on raises for existing employees. Teletech Government Solutions with a $28.3 million contract with the Federal Communications Commission for creation of a call center, reported creating 4,231 jobs. 3,000 of those workers were paid for five weeks or less. Koring Group received two FCC contracts, again for call centers. It reported hiring 26 people for each contract, or a total of 52 jobs, but cited the same workers for both contracts. The jobs only lasted about two months. Child Care Association of Brevard County in Cocoa, Fla., reported that the $98,669 saved 129 jobs. The money was used to give 129 employees a 3.9 percent cost-of-living raise. San Joaquin, Calif., Regional Rail Commission twice reported 125 jobs as part of a stimulus project to lay railroad track. As of October 29th, on its recovery.org Web site, the government was still citing 30,383 as the actual number of jobs linked so far to stimulus spending, despite the mistakes (Lies) the White House has now acknowledged and said were being corrected.

Dollar Losing Value Under Obama

dollar2A report last week in The Independent claiming that China, Russia and Gulf States are among nations prepared to ditch the dollar for oil trades has heightened the uncertainty surrounding the US currency’s future. The U. S. dollar faces increased pressure as the financial crisis allows emerging economies greater influence on the world stage. The dollar slumped against rivals last week.

The Gulf Arabs, China, Russia, Japan and France plan to switch to a basket of currencies including the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan, the euro, gold and a new, unified currency planned for nations in the Gulf Co-operation Council, including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar. This would mean an end to dollar dealings for oil. Obama and all the Liberal Democrats should be jumping up with joy since they want to alternative energy. How many years have you heard some Liberal talking about the dangers of Oil and George Bush Oil buddies, and Oil This, Oil That? Now these same fools are running around trying to save the dollar to purchast….OIL. John Q. Public, if you sit back and let the Liberal fools do their thing you will see how foolish they look and sound.

Since Obama has been in office the Dollar Value has dropped to an all time low. Remember the G20 summit in Pittsburgh last month, world leaders unveiled a new vision for economic governance, with bold plans to fix global imbalances and give more clout to emerging giants such as China and India. Who was left out? The United States. Following the summit, US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner repeated Washington’s commitment to a strong dollar. Two weeks later the Gulf Arabs, China, Russia, Japan and France plan to switch currencies for oil purchases. Who did they leave out, Obama and the United States.

dollar&bullsatnewlowchartEWTHow do we determine the relative value of an amount of money in one year compared to another? There is no correct measure, and economic historians use one or more different indicators depending on the context of the question.

  • The CPI is most often used to make comparisons partly because it is the series with which people are most familiar. This series tries to compare the cost of things the average household buys such as food, housing, transportation, medical services, etc. For earlier years, it is the most useful series for comparing the cost of consumer goods and services. It can be interpreted as how much money you would need today to buy an item in the year in question if its price had changed the same percentage as the average price change. Construction of CPI Indicator
  • The GDP Deflator is similar to the CPI in that it is a measure of average prices. The “bundle” of goods and services here includes all things produced in the economy, not just consumer goods and services that are reflected in the CPI. Construction of GDP Indicator
  • The Consumer Bundle is the average dollar value of the annual expenditures of a “consumer unit”. The consumer unit could be a family or another type of household. The main point is that spending is a joint decision of the members of the unit. The bundle increases over time as household income increases. Unlike the CPI, not only the cost but also the amount of goods and services increases over time. Note, the 2008 value of the consumer bundle will not be published until November 2009. Link to the Consumer Bundle Indicator
  • The Unskilled Wage Rate is good way to determine the relative cost of something in terms of the amount of work it would take to produce, or the relative time it would take to earn its cost. It can also be useful in comparing different wages over time. The unskilled wage is a more consistent measure than the average wage for making comparisons over time. Construction of Unskilled Wage Indicator
  • The GDP per capita is an index of the economy’s average output per person and is closely correlated with the average income. It can be useful in comparing different incomes over time. Construction of GDP Indicator
  • The GDP is the market value of all goods and services produced in a year. Comparing an expenditure using this measure, tells you how much money in the comparable year would be the same percent of all output. Construction of GDP Indicator

Lets look at comparisons in US dollars between any two years from 1774 to 2008. They are the CPI, the GDP Deflator, the consumer bundle, the unskilled wage rate, the GDP per capita, and the GDP.

  • George Washington was paid a salary of $25,000 a year from 1789 to 1797 as the first president of the United States. The current salary of the president has recently been doubled to $400,000. Making a comparison using the CPI for 1790 shows that $25,000 corresponds to over $608,000 today, so the recent raise means current presidents have an equal command over consumer goods. When comparing Washington’s salary to an unskilled worker, or the measure of average income, GDP per capita, then the comparable numbers are $11.5 and $25 million. To show the “economic power” of his wage, we see that his salary as a share of GDP would rank him equivalent to $1.9 billion.
  • The Civil War lasted from 1861 to 1865 and has been estimated to have direct cost about $6.7 billion valued in 1860 dollars. If this number were evaluated in dollars of today using the GDP deflator it would be $137 billion. The relative value of $6.7 billion of 1860 would be $22 trillion today, or about 145% of our current GDP.
  • The Model T Ford cost $850 in 1908; by 1925 the price had fallen to $290. Using the CPI, the GDP deflator or the consumer bundle, $850 in 1908 is equivalent to between $1,485 and $1,670 in 1925. Using the wage indicator we see that the labor cost of the 1908 car in 1925 wages was $2,094 and by using the GDP per capita indicator it was $1,957. If we wanted to consider the costs of the Model T using today’s prices we would find that the $850 cost in 1908 is $19,760 in today’s prices using the CPI, $14,700 using the GDP deflator, about $45,000 using the consumer bundle, $84,700 using the wage indicators, and $115,000 when comparing using the GDP per capita.
  • Babe Ruth signed a contract on March 10, 1930 with the American League Base Ball Club of New York (The Yankees) to play baseball for the next two years at an annual salary for $80,000. In 2008 the CPI was 14.1 times larger than it was in 1931 and the GDP deflator 11.6 times larger. If we want to compare Ruth’s earnings using the index of what the average household buys, it would be over $2,200,000 today. The relative cost of unskilled labor is 42 times higher in 2008 than in 1931. So if we wanted to compare his wage to what someone selling hot dogs would earn, we could say his “relative wage” is $3,200,000.

GDP per capita and GDP are 747 and 189 times larger in 2008 than they were in 1931. Ruth’s earnings relative to the average output would be $5,100,000 today. As a share of GDP, Ruth “output” that year would be $12,670,000 in today’s money.

obama+deficitOver the past 5 years, our federal debt has increased by $3.5 trillion to $8.6 trillion.  That is money that we have borrowed from the Social Security trust fund, borrowed from China and Japan, borrowed from American taxpayers. And over the next 5 years, between now and 2011, the President’s budget will increase the debt by almost another $3.5 trillion. This year the Federal Government will spend $220 Billion in interest. That is more interest to pay on our national debt, education, homeland security, transportation, and veterans benefits combined. Listen to what Senator Barack Obama said March 16, 2006 Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt. No wonder China, Russia and Gulf States are  prepared to ditch the dollar for oil trades.

Ben Bernanke Lies Again

bernanke1My March 4th Post Where’s The Money ! Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke was asked, “My question to you is, will you tell the American people to whom you lent $2.2 trillion of their dollars?” Bernanke replied, “No,” Bernanke said the Fed’s lending programs were not gifts or subsidies but rather over-collateralized loans. When Senate Budget Committee, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders pressed on whether Bernanke would name the firms that borrowed from the Fed, the central bank Bernanke replied, “No”. And more money was just pumped to AIG’s pockets, March 4th 2009.

Seven months later, October 5th reports are out that Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke and former Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. misled the public about the financial weakness of Bank of America and other early recipients of the government’s $700 billion Wall Street bailout, creating “unrealistic expectations” about the companies and damaging the program’s credibility. This is part of the TARP -Troubled Asset Relief Program- that the government loaned Bank of America and eight healthy financial institutions some $125 million to avoid collapses. TARP Special Inspector General Neil Barofsky stated that senior government officials and Wall Street regulators, including Mr. Bernanke and Mr. Paulson, had “affirmative concerns” that several of the nine institutions were financially shaky. Do you think Bernanke will talk, “No.” Remember he kept silent on $2.2 Trillion $125 million is nothing. Why, Obama and his administration use TARP to advance his own political priorities.

The TARP program, which was originally an emergency piece of legislation aimed at creating financial stability. Obama used $787 billion for bailout funds to advance the administration’s social, economic, and political agenda. Obama will not accept payments from the loans. He wants the institutions to be in debt with the government, you know, once you do a deal with the Devil, there’s no way out. Accept government money, and they own you forever.

Under the Bush administration a prominent and profitable bank, under threat of a damaging public audit, was forced to accept less than $1 billion of TARP money. The money flowed to the bank. Back then the Bush administration was acting for purely economic reasons. It wanted to recapitalize the banks to halt a financial panic.  Today, that same bank is begging to give the money back. The chairman offers to write a check, now, with interest. He’s been sitting on the cash for months. The Obama team says no, since unlike the smaller banks that gave their TARP money back, this bank is far more prominent. The bank has also been threatened with “adverse” consequences if its chairman persists. That’s how Obama works. Obama took the nation from a trillion in debt to over $4 trillion in debt in his first sixty days, with even more federal spending promised, the nation will be $10 trillion in debt before the 2010 mid-term election cycle. Don’t say anything, the Liberals will call you a RACIST.

Obama’s ACORN Exposed With Undercover Video

Officials with Obama’s community organizing group ACORN were secretly videotaped offering to assist two individuals posing as a pimp and a prostitute, encouraging them to lie to the Internal Revenue Service and providing guidance on how to claim underage girls from South America as dependents.

In the video James O’Keefe, a 25-year-old independent filmmaker, posed as a pimp with a 20-year-old woman named “Kenya” who posed as a prostitute while visiting ACORN’s office in Baltimore. The couple told ACORN staffers they wanted to secure housing where the woman could continue to maintain a prostitution business. “Kenya” can be seen telling an ACORN staffer that she earns roughly $8,000 a month. The ACORN employee then suggests to “Kenya” that ACORN could submit a tax return for 2008 showing that she made $9,600 for the entire year instead of $96,000  and that ACORN would charge “Kenya” $50 instead of the usual $150 fee for preparing her taxes.

The ACORN staffer can also be seen suggesting that the prostitute list her occupation as a freelance “performing artist.” “It’s not dancing, trust me,” the “pimp” says. “But dancing is considered an art,” the ACORN staffer replies. “Exotic dancers]usually go under performing artists, or yeah, they usually go under performing arts, which will be what you are a performing artist.”

The “pimp” later says that he and “Kenya” plan to bring up to 13 “very young” girls from El Salvador to work as prostitutes. Although an ACORN staffer points out their plans are illegal, she also suggests that the girls can be claimed as dependents.

“What if they are going to be making money because they are performing tricks too?” the pimp says. “If they making money and they are underage, then you shouldn’t be letting anybody know anyway,” the ACORN staffer says, and laughs. “It’s illegal. So I am not hearing this, I am not hearing this.  Don’t give up no information you’re not asked.”

If the girls are under age 16, the ACORN staffer says on the tape, then they are not legally allowed to work in the state, regardless of what they do. “So it’s like they don’t even exist?” “Kenya” asks. “Exactly,” the ACORN staffer replies. “It’s like they don’t even exist.”

The staffer goes on to suggest that as many as three of the underage girls can be listed as dependents at the home, but a “flag” will be raised if as many as 13 are listed. “You are gonna use three of them,” the staffer says. “They are gonna be under 16, so you is eligible to get child tax credit and additional child tax credit.”

A second ACORN employee can be heard on the audiotape suggesting that the couple join the organization for an annual cost of $120 prior to attending one of its first-time homebuyer seminars, which are underwritten with taxpayer funds.

Later, when the “pimp” asks what would happen if the organization is somehow connected to the scheme, the ACORN staffer replies, “First of all, it’s not gonna damage us because we not gonna know. And with your girls, you tell them, ‘Be careful.’ Train them to keep their mouth shut.” “These girls are like 14, how can we trust them?” the pimp asks. “Just be very, very careful,” the ACORN staffer says. “Whatever you do, always keep your eyes in the back of your head.”

ACORN has been around since 1970 and boasts 350,000 members. Acorn uses various affiliated groups to agitate for “a living wage,” for “affordable housing,” for “tax justice” and union and environmental goals, as well as against school choice and welfare reform.

Title XII of the spending legislation backed by the Democratic congressional leadership and the Obama administration spent $1 billion in funds for the Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) program.  The program gives politicians a wide latitude when spending grant money and allows local leaders to use federal dollars on local projects. ACORN loves CDBG because it is adept at lobbying for CDBG funds. A separate $10 million was provided in the stimulus package to develop or rehabilitate low-income housing under the Self-Help and Assisted Homeownership Opportunity Program (SHOP). Another $5.2 billion comes in the form of $4.19 billion for foreclosure relief through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The current version of the stimulus package would allow nonprofit groups to compete with states and localities for $3.44 billion from the $4.19 billion Neighborhood Stabilization Program allocation. The remaining $750 million from the program plus the $10 million in SHOP funds would be set aside exclusively for nonprofit groups.

ACORN national president Maude Hurd said Obama was “the candidate who best understands and can affect change on the issues ACORN cares about like stopping foreclosures.” The Obama campaign paid $832,598 to Citizens Services Inc., another ACORN affiliate, for get-out-the-vote activities. It’s also well known that Obama led a voter drive for ACORN affiliate Project Vote.

Obama, who got his start as a Chicago “community organizer” at Acorn’s side. In 1992 he led voter registration efforts as the director of Project Vote, which included Acorn. This past November, he lauded Acorn’s leaders for being “smack dab in the middle” of that effort. Obama also served as a lawyer for Acorn in 1995, in a case against Illinois to increase access to the polls. During his tenure on the board of Chicago’s Woods Fund, that body funneled more than $200,000 to Acorn. More recently, the Obama campaign paid $832,000 to an Acorn affiliate. The campaign initially told the Federal Election Commission this money was for “staging, sound, lighting.” It later admitted the cash was to get out the vote. Obama is now distancing himself from Acorn.

Stimulus Money Sent To 4,000 Cons

mnWhat a mess up this time Obama, Sending inmates convicted of murder and rape a $250.oo stimulus check. Federal officials say some 4,000 cons nationwide were cashing in the $250.00 checks  the same behind-bars bonus was mailed to nearly 4,000 cons nationwide.

The IG also is investigating whether any improper payments were made to dead beneficiaries, felons on the run from the law, individuals living overseas and recipients no longer legally authorized to live in the United States, said IG spokesman George Penn.

The Inspector General of Social Security is now tracing the checks that were mailed to 3,900 prisoners at a cost of nearly $1 million. The U.S. Treasury Department began mailing the $250 checks to 54.4 million Social Security beneficiaries in May as part of a $13 billion spending plan in Obama’s President $787 billion stimulus bill.
