Obama wants the world to think he is a “citizen of the world.” Obama has proved that he is nothing more than another Lying American President. The UN Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen in December depended almost entirely on the Obama. At the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Singapore, 17 heads of states and government destroyed all hopes of setting internationally binding climate targets in Copenhagen. In order to achieve success, three points must be agreed upon: Mid- and long-term goals for reductions in greenhouse gases; Financial support for newly industrialized countries and developing countries from developed nations; Technology transfer to poorer countries. APEC leaders had hoped to endorse a goal of cutting greenhouse gas emissions to half of 1990 levels by 2050, which had been announced by Obama and Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama.  Copenhagen Climate Treaty

Hatoyama said, “By 2050, we have set out this goal of an 80 percent reduction” in greenhouse gas emissions. “Both Japan and U.S. have agreed on this, and we want to make COP-15 a success, and we agreed to cooperate towards this end.” Obama said, “The United States and Japan share a commitment to developing the clean energy of the future and we’re focused on combating the threat of climate change.” Calling climate an important priority for both nations, Obama said they discussed “how we can work together to pave the way for a successful outcome in Copenhagen next month.” Referring to the 15th Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change that takes place in Copenhagen December 7-18.

Obama’s announced at the APEC summit that he was no longer possible to secure a binding treaty in Copenhagen. Should the climate summit fail, the blame will lie squarely with Obama. Obama has neglected America’s addiction to fossil fuels. Americans consume twice as much fossil fuel per capita and the world’s largest emitter of CO2. The US and China have secretly agreed to do as little as possible regarding climate change for the time being. Developing nations refuse most responsibility for climate change, arguing that warming is primarily the fault of rich industrialized countries. The U.S. argue that fast-growing developing nations like China and India will emit the vast majority of future carbon emissions. The Obama Administration has been very clear that it will not accept binding emissions targets on a global deal until Congress has accepted domestic cuts at home. Asia-Pacific leaders agreed that there will be no legally binding deal at the Copenhagen summit. The climate change bill that is currently making its way through Congress reduces CO2 emissions by 4 % relative to 1990 levels, by 2020.
