Kroft to Obama: Are you punch-drunk?

Campaign 2008 SharptonBarack Obama sat down with Steve Kroft in a ’60 Minutes’ interview. It appears that Obama thinks that the situation that America is facing is funny. Look at his most recent activity,  ‘The Tonight Show’ where he talked about his picks basketball, and joked about his bowling skills, even making fun at Special Olympics.

Now he appears on ‘60 Minutes’ laughing at serious questions about the global financial system, Afghanistan, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner,  AIG’s $165 million in bonuses, the failure of Citigroup. “I mean there were a whole bunch of folks who, on paper, if you looked at quarterly reports, were wildly successful, selling derivatives that turned out to be. . .completely worthless,” Obama said, with a chuckle. Steve Kroft asked Obama, “Are you punch-drunk?” Obama sat there laughing, making jokes about money. Obama laughed and chuckled several times while discussing the state of the world’s economy. There’s gotta be a little gallows humor to get you through the day,” Obama said, with another laugh.

We all know Obama is trying to be the ‘cool dude’. Somebody need to tell Obama to wake up and stop daydreaming. You wanted ‘CHANGE’ then here is Obama (One Big Ass Mistake America)

No, he is not punch-drunk. he is giddy at the thought of social change. It is no secret academics and those involved with community organization want to create social equality not by raising everyone higher, but by bringing down the wealthy. For many of them, they have a chip on their shoulder. They view wealth as evil–and this includes anyone making comfortable in the eyes of the poorest. They think by bringing down the rich, they will even the playing field so all can get ahead. The problem is, the top 3% of wealth earners shoulder 90% of the taxes (depending on the state/city) so by destroying them you destroy the economy. At that point everyone is equal and must rely upon the government. It’s one way to bring about social equality and change. While everyone will be provided for (minimal), freedom to choose is gone and the freedom to learn from the consequences of your mistakes to make your self better is also removed. For this reason socialism never produces great nations because the fact is pain and discomfort is really weakness leaving the body or society.

Or, Yes, if punch drunk means you have been hit more than you can rationally take so you laugh as your last-resort defense mechanism. This is a man that is in over his head. Remember, Obama has never run a business, has no prior executive experience, spent most of his life in academia and then as a community organizer where the prevailing philosophy is business has destroyed the life of those in poverty. In short he is in over his head, he is the quintessential political virgin, the 46 year-old political virgin

  1. God I totally agree with the “in over his head” comment above. This week has been one huge faux pas for him. And all the photos I see of Geithner – he has a total “deer in the headlights” look about him.

Neither of these guys instills much confidence for me (despite what the markets said today).

I watched the 60 Minutes segment (couldn’t stomach all of it) and as much as I despise Obama and what he stands for, I was embarrassed for him. What an incompetent, arrogant fool.

Lamont, those are great points, no one paid attention to what Obama was saying during the elections, the corporations were listening, and they heard him very clear. Obama’s social change is not understood by many, and people that have not experienced paying taxes, running million dollar companies, look at this like it the golden key. Obama’s lack of executive experience is showing. People are now seeing through him. Thanks visiting and don’t be a stranger.
